Start Living With Everyday Oils Kit, 1 of 9 -Lavender Essential Oil

Hello again!

Minnesota Sue here with our first oil out of nine from the “Everyday Oils Kit”, Lavender.

As those of you who know me well, I have a hard time recommending which kit to start with. It many times comes down to, “Why are YOU starting to buy Young Living Essential Oils?”

If you have certain health issues, I will give you personal testimonies of what oils have worked on the health issue but for lack of better words, if one is looking for better health, I like to say, start with “Everyday Oils Kit” from Young Living.

As I stated in my previous post, I am going to cover each of the oils in the kit, so you understand why I love to have these essential oils in my medicine cabinet. 🙂 Actually, I have them out in the open and in my roving medicine cabinet these days. Here is Lavender now.

Lavender Essential Oil as some of you know, is the most used and most loved essential oil in the world. I can personally say, I have more than one bottle of this open at all times. I use it in many applications from my home, car, in food, personal care and all over the place.

Lavender Essential Oil is also the most versatile oil out of all of them.

  • Mild skin irritants, burns, rashes, babies bum, cuts, hives, scrapes, bruises? Lightly massage on with a good vegetable oil or V-6.
  • Sleeplessness? Rub a drop on one wrist, rub both wrists together than go and rub them wrist on the opposite foot(on the inside bottom), Nightly.
  • Anxious/Stressed? Diffuse or wear as a perfume.
  • Allergies? Diffuse (diffuser/cotton ball on vent of car/house and Rub around nose area)
  • Water Retention? Rub on feet/wrist and massage area.
  • Great for the throat when hoarse, sore from coughing, bronchitis and more.
  • Works great for layering over another essential oil to seal it in.
  • Itchy Scalp or Dandruff?  Use lavender mixed in with your shampoo.
  • Stomach, nausea? Rub on stomach!

  • Thrush baby? Mix with a good veggie oil and rub on with fingertip in mouth or cotton ball on bum!
  • Headaches? Rub on temples, middle of forehead and base of skull on neck
  • Insect/Bee bites? Rub on the bothersome ones or spray on all of them!
  • Sprains? Rub on Area
  • Wounds? Spray in and Around, can heal much quicker
  • Acne? Use with Thieves Regime(A past blog post of mine covers this) to clear up acne and reduce scarring
  • Hair Loss? Rub Lavender on scalp
  • Cramps? Rub on area of Cramping
  • Stretch Marks? Rub in daily, am and pm and take before & after pics, amazing
  • Gas/Farting? Rub on belly
  • Bad Smells in Home? Diffuse
  • Hangnail? Drop of Lavender
  • Anxious Animals? Diffuse or spray area lightly, rub on paws
  • Fresh Scented Clothes? Add a drop to liquid laundry soap and shake
  • Baby Colic? Rub on feet and stomach
  • Tired Feet? Soak in Lavender with Epsom Salt/baking soda
  • Love to bathe In the bathtub? Add a drop or two in bathtub with 1/2 cup of  Epsom Salt/baking soda
  • Dry Skin? Rub in a back brush(soft bristles) dry comb skin before bathing
  • Smelly Shoes? Drop of Lavender with 1/4 cup of baking soda in a small sock, tie the end and stuff shoe with sock overnight. :))
  • Smelly Closet? Take an old sock, or small cloth bag you are not using, add 1/2 cup of baking soda with a few drops of Lavender and hang where it will not touch the clothes.

I have used Lavender for so many things in our everyday lives. From my grandbaby’s burns on her feet last summer to son’s acne, mixing with lemonade, to rubbing on feet at night for sleeping. Diffusing with other oils to calm all of us. When allergies arise, my throat tightens, I head for the lavender bottle and rub on my neck. I have found that many things heal much quicker with Lavender in the equation. To me, lavender oil is the beginning oil in learning with essential oils. An essential oil you cannot go wrong in using, if you ever in doubt which oil to use, grab lavender.
