Are You Making Memories?

Hello, Minnesota Sue here! ๐Ÿ˜‰

The day after Christmas is already here….

I was chuckling when I opened up my Christmas present from my daughter Kaiti this year. She got me new towels and a curling iron. ๐Ÿ™‚ She remembered on one of my trips that the curling iron handle broke off and I just kept on using it. When an item is your favorite and you want the same thing, hard to let go of it when you cannot find it. The main thing? I will not keep burning my thumb every time I use it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

The other gift was towels.

I got laughing at that…as I am that type of person, on certain things, to keep using over and over again. If the towel still works, why throw it out? I also don’t mind having thinner towels, as they dry faster and don’t take up so much room in the washing machine. No holes in them yet, just thin. Okay, she noticed, she is ultra observant.ย  Okay, okay. Yes, I can use new towels but I just have my husband’s advice rubbing off on me…his saying is, ‘If the shoe fits, wear it,” or “If it works, why fix it?” or better yet, “If you can use it, why buy a new one?”

Next come the grandbabies. Who are so fun to love and hug up. They were so excited for their Christmas presents. I love to watch them open the gifts and then start using them. They have such personalities and interesting to watch them try to figure out how something works.

It was so nice to have family at home, even though I missed two of my six, who are living in other states. One was working and the other is in the marines. Yes, one has his tickets to come home and other has been waiting for the price to come down. Anyway…sometimes we just have to make the best of what we have and we did.ย  So happy that the rest of the family had the day off and we had a beautiful time along with 3 extra guests in the home.

We had our typical ham, potatoes, salad, bread, veggies and desserts. ๐Ÿ™‚ The ham is the best when you know where it came from. It was so delicious and not so full of salt. Ah, speaking of it..time for a ham sandwich.

We played card games, opened presents, visited and enjoy the peaceful day ~ ended with listening to a sermon online. Technology is just simply amazing to me.ย  So many things to be thankful for.

So thankful for the family and the reason we celebrate Christmas, the birth of baby Jesus! Like my grandnephew said, “Jesus was born and then He went into my heart!”

Hope you enjoyed your day, as much as I did.

Leaving you wrapped in loving warmth, until the next post ~
